The Prenatal, The Newborn and The Hands On classes are 8 hours of thorough online and in person instruction that will give you everything you need to know to prepare for birth, optimizing your labour as well as looking after your newborn. These classes are taught by Sarah Leslie, who has been working for 20+ years as a registered midwife.
You can take the online classes in one day or over two months. For example some folks like to spread out the classes by taking The Prenatal between 28 - 30 weeks and then The Newborn 32 - 36 weeks. The Hands On should be taken between 34 - 37 weeks.

The Prenatal: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Lunch: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
The Newborn: 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
The Hands On: is a separate in person class that is taught only for those who have taken our online classes.

The In Person is an interactive 4 hour stand alone class that covers the basic hands on things you will need to know to birth a baby and then care for it!
The class is best taken with the person who will be supporting you in labour, birth and the weeks after your birth. This is a class for those who haven't taken any prenatal classes.

The OOH is an interactive one hour online class that covers the different options for giving birth in Ontario for midwifery clients. The class is best taken with the folks who will be supporting you during labour, birth and the first few hours after your birth. Maeghan Macpherson will walk you through the out-of-hospital birth research, what it's like to have a baby out of the hospital environment and answer your questions!

The cost for this class is $25 per online registration.
If you have had a caesarean birth and you are considering how you would like to give birth the next time, this is a class for you! This 1 hour online class is open to everyone, whether you are receiving care from a midwife, a family doctor or an obstetrician. The class is taught by Clare Hacksel, who has lots of experience in supporting labouring clients who have chosen to have a TOLAC. The class is best taken with the folks who will be supporting you during labour, birth and the first few hours after your birth.

The Nourish is a 2 hour in person class created for expecting parents. Whether you're planning on breast/chest feeding exclusively or combo feeding with breastmilk and formula, this class is for you. This class is taught by Sarah Wilson, who has extensive experience teaching new parents how to effectively feed their newborns.

Having a baby takes a village! This interactive 2 hour in person class is for the supportive and enthusiastic village that surrounds small humans and their new parents!! If you are a soon to be or are a new grandparent, auntie, uncle or friend who wants to be supportive, this class is for you. This class is taught by Julie Ngu, who will guide you through all the necessary information to care for a newborn and their parents in the first eight weeks after birth.

The Midwives' Clinic of East York Don Mills is excited to host two FREE events per month for pregnant people and postpartum families to connect. Sarah Leslie will facilitate these events, covering topics that the group would like to discuss. This is a brand new idea, so any suggestions are welcome!
Folks want private classes for so many different reasons! If you're busy and want to schedule a few sessions to break down the material or just get it all over at once, we can figure out the time and the content you wish to cover. Sarah can talk about labour, birth, postpartum and newborns for hours! We will create the class for you and ensure that we cover all your questions and concerns.
Sarah Leslie offers private prenatal and newborn classes that range from 1 to 3 hours in duration. She also offers a private refresher class to discuss your past birth experience and how you can strategize for your next birth. She can also review your previous feeding experience and provide suggestions and resources for your next baby.
Maeghan MacPherson offers a private Out of Hospital birth class, which lasts between 1 to 2.5 hours. You can add more content to this class if you wish.
Clare Hacksel offers a private TOLAC class, which lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours. You can add more content to this class if you wish.
Julie Ngu offers a private Village class, which lasts between 1 to 2 hours. You can add more content to this class if you wish.
These classes are charged by the hour, as they are one-to-one sessions. The cost is $100 per hour. The class can take place at your home, on Zoom, or at The Midwives Clinic of EYDM's office space.
